Hilton Head Area Top Agent Scott Collins grew up in the real estate business, and learned early on what it takes to earn a solid reputation with both clients and peers alike. “My father was a residential home builder in Pittsburgh and later ran a successful contracting company and interior design business in San Diego,” he recalls. “I remember his clients raving about the service he provided and that has stuck with me.” Scott has always loved real estate and construction and knew he would eventually be a part of it. So when he became a licensed REALTOR® 15 years ago, client service was his number one priority.

Scott now serves the Hilton Head Island and mainland Bluffton areas with a full range of residential real estate services at all price points. “Basically, if you’re looking in the Hilton Head greater area, I’m your guy” he says with a laugh.

For Scott, his entire way of doing business comes down to two things: offering “outrageous service” and always following through on what he says he’s going to do. “I watched my father do that and I know it’s the way to make clients so happy, they’ll be willing to send referrals my way. I just had a client from 10 years ago, who doesn’t even live in the area anymore, tell someone about me,” he says. “The service in most industries today isn’t very good,” he continues. “Initially my clients are almost surprised to be receiving such a high level of service from me.”

Every one of Scott’s client relationships begins with a conversation. “When I meet with a client for the first time, we talk about their expectations, time frame, and pricing so I can deliver exactly what they want,” he says. “My goal is to go through the transaction with no miscommunication and to make sure I know exactly what has to be done so everything goes smoothly.”

Continuous education and growth as an agent also help Scott offer an exemplary level of service. He has numerous specialty designations, such as a Certified Luxury Home Specialist from the Luxury Home Marketing Institute. He is also a Certified Negotiations Expert, which allows him to get the best possible deals for his sellers and buyers. And as an Accredited Buyers Representative, he knows how to quickly find the perfect home for his buyers. As a Top real estate agent, Scott Collins has been recognized with a number of honors and awards throughout his career.

And yet for Scott, the true rewards come directly from his clients. “The most rewarding part of this business is watching a buyer or seller when we’ve closed a deal,” he says. “They’re so elated and oftentimes they’ll tell me the process was much easier than they thought it would be, or even that they’ve had a lot of fun!”

Scott commits a majority of his time to his clients, but when he does have a rare afternoon or evening free, he might play a round of golf, kayaking, or just being on the beach. He is also active in supporting the Children’s Miracle Network.

Asked if he has a motto or philosophy that he lives by, Scott doesn’t hesitate. “I have it on all my correspondence: A name you can trust. A reputation you can count on,” he says. “To me this isn’t a job. I wake up every morning and love that I get to do this. It’s still exciting even after all these years.”
