Kellie Kieley of Albany, New York, leads a successful team of real estate agents by combining her ethically grounded business practices with an unwavering dedication to steady, systematic growth. “I’m a big believer in my business, the people I work with, and the systems and culture we have created. Slow and steady: we’re about quality over quantity, and if we do the right things, the quantity comes naturally. I won’t work with just any agent – I want to work with people who got into real estate for the right reasons.”
Originally, Kellie received her MA in Clinical Psychology, and while her current profession is not technically within that field, she has discovered regular application for her knowledge. “I had no idea I would eventually end up in real estate. In 2006 I was trying to sell my own home as a For Sale By Owner. It was a truly horrific experience. It was then that I knew I could merge my passion and education in counseling with real estate so I could help other people going through this process.” After obtaining her license, Kellie grew her business by servicing the Capital District in New York and Saratoga, and she found herself increasingly motivated by the sense of accomplishment at the end of a busy workday. “There’s a sense of satisfaction getting people to where they need to be. It’s not always a happy transaction – people have to buy and sell homes for plenty of unhappy reasons – but it’s still rewarding to know that I did everything I could to make the process less stressful in getting them to their next chapter.”
Kellie prides herself on her ability to navigate this potentially treacherous emotional territory, thanks to both her professional expertise and her private real estate experiences. “I’m proud of myself and the business I’ve grown, and the agents I have on my team, especially because I’ve been able to build it from scratch. After staying home and raising my children, I wound up getting an unexpected divorce that left me in financial dire straits – I’m talking eviction papers, car repossession, everything – so my story is more of a ‘sink or swim’ type of thing. Because of that, I can better help people through certain life situations that I can really relate to, and the compassion is sincere.” By constantly reminding herself of her humble beginnings, Kellie is able to stay grounded in candor and sincerity, despite her tremendous success.
Today, in 2022, Kellie is the owner of Kellie Kieley Realty, LLC. She formally launched the business in February of 2020, three weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in America. “It certainly was a difficult and scary time, but we pivoted, worked together and ultimately came out stronger. Today we have twelve agents, and out of the five hundred brokerages represented in our MLS’s, we’re expected to rank around number thirty for this year. We work really hard, and it’s paying off.” Her team boasts a book of business that is over seventy percent repeat and referral clients, and their foundation of clients has them poised to continue their steady upward trajectory. “We care. We are very consultative and honest, and we spend a lot of time consulting, guiding and educating to place our clients in the best position possible. We pride ourselves on our integrity and our clients trust us. That is why they come back and refer. Trust is what really matters.”
