“Without a doubt, the client always comes first.” That is the philosophy that guides everything Top Agent Tammy Chevalier does in her real estate career. Licensed since 2002, she brings to real estate many of the skills she gained in her previous career as an office manager for an athlete rep firm, representing professional hockey players in their contract negotiations. “It’s actually where I got my first exposure to real estate,” Tammy explains. “A major part of my responsibilities included managing the sale or purchase of an athlete’s home if they were traded from team to team.” When she left that position, transitioning into real estate felt like the next logical step, and she has never looked back.
Tammy and her team offer residential real estate services throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs. She used her relocation experience to start a relocation department in her current brokerage, and acts as the Relocation Administrator, in addition to working with buyers and sellers at all stages of their real estate journey. “I believe in delivering an elevated level of service my clients appreciate and deserve,” she says. “The first thing I do is sit down and take time to get to know them, their situation, what they’re trying to achieve, and in what time frame,” she continues. “I also educate clients on the process so they’re comfortable as they go through it. Buying or selling a home is someone’s biggest financial investment and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Our goal is to make it a smooth, enjoyable experience.”
Tammy hopes clients who have worked with her or a member of her team walk away from the experience feeling like they were listened to and understood. “We take the time to understand their wants and needs, and help them achieve those goals,” she says. “No client is ever just a number to us. When some big teams do an enormous amount of volume, clients get lost in the shuffle and it becomes impersonal. That’s never where we want to be. We want everyone to feel like they’re our only client, even though they’re not.”
It’s hard for Tammy to pin down one thing she enjoys the most about her chosen career, because she really does love it all. “Developing the client relationship and providing exemplary service are important to me,” she says. “Moving from an initial consultation into the education process, then into the service process, and finally reaching the closing of the transaction is very rewarding,” she continues. “I love when a month or two goes by and then I get that email or call letting us know what the process meant to a client or getting invited back for dinner. It’s those special moments you can’t predict that just happen.”
Tammy believes in giving back to the communities that support her business and does so through KW Cares. “Through each closed transaction I donate a portion of the commission to the KW Cares fund which is used to help families, communities or associates in need,” she explains. A Minnesota Master Naturalist, she also plants up to 100 trees in local areas annually. Looking ahead, top real estate agent in Minnesota Tammy Chevalier is excited to continue to grow the Keller Williams brand when it comes to corporate relocation. She also has plans to expand her team to include additional agents who share her passion for service that is second to none.
When she’s not helping clients, there’s a good chance you’ll find Tammy engaging in an outdoor activity — like camping in grizzly country. “I love traveling out west and always wanted property there, so in 2008 I decided to plan ahead and get licensed in Montana,” she explains. “I now own two vacation rental properties just outside Yellowstone. It brings me so much joy to be out in the wild areas.”
