Svitlana Creadon doesn’t need to do much advertising of her real estate business. Her reputation speaks for her, and Chicago’s builders and developers increasingly know whom to turn to when they have a problem that needs solving. “I have a good eye for new development. I also stay abreast of all the latest design trends and talk to buyers regularly, so I know what people are looking for. Developers will seek my advice for projects that aren’t selling, and then ask me to help them with new development so that they don’t encounter the same problems again.”

Svitlana moved to Chicago from her home in Ukraine when she was 20, where she earned a B.A. in management from Loyola University, complementing the B.A. in International Business she earned from the Ivano-Frankivsk National University of Oil and Gas. Her career as a Realtor began with a challenge. “One of my dear friends was a builder, who asked me to take over on a project that they were having difficulty selling. I came up with a strategic marketing plan and sold it in no time.”

From there, Svitlana created a niche for herself with Compass in new construction, something for which she’d always had a passion. “I have a fascination for architecture, and working on new development or rehabilitation projects. Every project is unique and presents its own challenges, and it’s such a joy to see it through from planning to closing on the units. It’s a little like seeing your child grow up.” Svitlana is involved at every stage of the process, working with architects, offering her input on the core and design of the project. “I’m a very detail-oriented person and have a strong personality, so I’ve never been afraid to point out any problems I might see. They’ll alter the project based on my advice about what clients want.”

She’s also very hands-on when it comes to marketing the units, utilizing Compass’s huge platform to reach out to potential buyers and her network of agents. “I’ll procure detailed floor plans to educate buyers on the new product, and will do a lot of open houses to meet first-time homebuyers. I also oversee the creation of professional photography, drone videos, and virtual tours that we will get out on social media and other websites. I’m very responsive and fast acting. I make sure the client has a great experience, because I’m not just selling my brand, but the builder’s as well.”

When she’s not working, Svitlana gives part of her time to volunteering at St. Clement Church and serving her community in whatever capacity she’s needed. She spends her free time with family, hiking, biking, or trying out different restaurants around Humboldt Park. She also recently took up horseback riding.

Going forward, she hopes to double her business each year as she continues to grow as a Realtor. “You learn a lot about yourself and the people you’re working with after each transaction. I want to keep improving my negotiation skills, and just perfect the whole process, so that I become invaluable to my clients and colleagues. I look forward to maintaining lifelong friendships with my clients and continuing to serve them loyally.”
