When Anthony Muscarella joined Advisors Mortgage Group in 2006, the company had only an emerging local presence in New Jersey.  Advisors Mortgage has since grown to a multi-state mortgage bank with offices throughout the U.S. Now a branch manager at Advisors Mortgage Group in Wall Township, top mortgage professional in New Jersey Anthony Muscarella and his team contribute to the bank’s position as second in market share in Monmouth County for loan volume on purchases. His team includes several loan officers, a production partner, an assistant and a handful of processors, each of whom is motivated to make people’s homeownership dreams a reality. “Our business is 95% referrals,” says Anthony. He believes that the referrals from REALTORS®, attorneys, financial planners and previous clients are the result of the team’s highly specialized process.

“A lot of mortgage companies just kind of throw a deal at the wall and see what happens,” says Anthony, noting that at his Branch, the process differs from the industry standard in its front-heavy approach to qualifying buyers. “We have a very well thought-out, specific process involving all team members. Everyone knows what is expected of them,” he says. “That process is our differentiator; having the right people within that process ensures smooth transactions. Our loans are often ready to close two to three weeks ahead of schedule.”

With shorter-than-average times clearing loans to close, clients and partners will never see a mad dash with Anthony and his team. “There’s no hurrying, no rushing around and we don’t have surprise issues on the back end of deals,” he says. “Everything falls in line and our borrowers have very unique, stress-free experience.” For Anthony the reward is not only in the referrals he receives but the joy on the faces of his clients. “It’s so rewarding when somebody is almost in tears with disbelief and gratitude over how smoothly things went after a nightmare they had previously experienced or stories they’ve heard.”

Having grown his career in tandem with the expansion of Advisors Mortgage, Anthony sees only continued growth and a bright future for him and the branch he leads. “I love that I have been a part of what we as a company have achieved,” he says. “At the branch level with my team, the plan is to continue to expand, to employ more people, to help more and more borrowers. We want to show them that the dream of home ownership is within their reach and really isn’t as overwhelming as they may think it is.”

At the community level, Advisors Mortgage and Anthony’s branch go beyond helping simplify the process of buying homes, says Anthony. “Advisors is pretty amazing. They match all of our donations, dollar for dollar.” Anthony personally is also very active with local youth sports and schools. “I’ve managed teams and coached teams; and I am involved with local schools and charitable organizations hosting annual events.” With two children ages 5 and 1, Anthony’s personal focus is on his children and family. “My wife and I believe in experiences, we try to expose our children to as much as possible.”

An attitude of remaining relevant and present to others spans all aspects of Anthony’s life and work. “At our branch, our focus is on each individual transaction and making sure we do our part to ensure a smooth experience for everyone we encounter,” says Anthony. “From borrowers to REALTORS® to attorneys, our referral partners know how much we appreciate helping get people into homes.” The opportunity to do so, he says, is life-changing for clients, his team and for Anthony.
