Tamie Platts cut her teeth as a mortgage professional focusing on VA loans. But it was her uniquely creative approach to the business that set her apart almost from the start. “I had just moved back to Atlanta, and in 2002, I was approached to do VA loans for a company and I really loved it right away. At the time, you had to meet Veterans in person, and I would go with my ‘mom van’, which had an extension cord and copier in the back, so I could leave with a completed loan file. It was definitely quirky, but I quickly became a top producer and people stopped laughing. So, I kind of stumbled into it, but it couldn’t be a more perfect fit for me.”

Tamie leads a small team of highly trained professionals who all achieve the high levels of service that Tamie demands of herself.  She is licensed in the state of Georgia, but primarily focuses on the Metro Atlanta area.

Tamie credits her success to the fact that she always provides three things to her clients and Realtors®: Great follow up, no surprises and on time closings. “Every Monday my team has a pipeline meeting so we all know what’s going on with every loan, and then on Tuesday we update all parties involved, including the listing agent. We send out emails at every benchmark. We really try to offer white glove service.  We want them to not only be impressed, but know how much we enjoy working with them and appreciate their business.”

Another unique advantage that Tamie offers her clients, is that she is a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist®. “I’m able to structure loans to fit a client’s long term and short term financial needs. I also have the ability to help them improve their credit scores, so I can put them in a position to get the best rate possible. I go above and beyond for people and this is the primary reason Realtors® want to work with me. Everything runs smoothly, clients are happy, and I’m a part of giving them that exceptional experience.”

Tamie takes her role as a partner to Realtors® very seriously and is always looking for ways to give back to them as much as she can. “I offer weekly online marketing webinars to Realtors® and CE courses. I have a business coach who keeps me focused on learning about cutting edge technologies that can help my partners grow their businesses. When they win, everyone wins. “

Tamie is actively involved in her community and her industry. She is a member of NAMAR and the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Through the MBA she supports the Open Doors Foundation. She also donates to USA Cares.  When she isn’t working, Tamie loves to garden, travel, and spend time with her friends and family.

Tamie would like to continue to thrive in the industry that is her passion. “I don’t know if I could not do what I do. I work with my daughter now, and it’s amazing to see her flourish in a career that has brought me so much fulfillment.  Getting a loan can be a stressful process, but with the right team on your side, it can not only be easy, but fun as well.
