Jill Burt has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years, as a loan officer and in management roles. In 2019, Jill started her own mortgage brokerage, Victory Mortgage NMLS #1919325, where she is the owner, manager, and producer. She works alongside her loan processor, Monica, to serve her clients by helping them with every step along the way to obtaining a loan.

Jill is based in Coppell, Texas, and serves Coppell and DFW. All of her business comes from repeat and referral clients. “I get my referrals through Realtors®, financial planners, attorneys, past clients, friends, family—anybody I’ve had contact with,” Jill says. Clients keep coming back and referring their friends and family to work with Jill because of her integrity. “I’m honest, I’m fair, I communicate, and I let them know the truth. I try to be upfront and treat them the way I would want to be treated, the way I would treat my own family.”

Jill’s thoroughness and deep familiarity with mortgage guidelines help her to give clients a detailed and accurate picture of their options. “My specialty is being able to know if people are truly qualified,” she explains. “I dig in deep with the guidelines, and that’s where my experience in management is really useful. When you’re a manager you get to see all the difficult files, because all the problems come to you. I’m really a consultant for people, and I’m good at figuring out ways to get people qualified based on where they are. I take on their situation like it was my own.”

Communication is crucial, and Jill stays in touch with referral partners and borrowers by phone call, email, and text, depending on whichever method they prefer. She also connects with past clients on social media. “By the end of the process people feel like we really know each other,” she says. “We build a relationship and it goes from there.”

Outside of her business, Jill is active in her community. She is involved with the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, and belongs to a professional networking group in town. She works with women’s groups in the area, including WiNGS, which helps combat poverty and provides women with career mentorship. Jill also belongs to a women’s connection group of professionals who promote each other and do philanthropic work together.

When she is not working or giving back, Jill loves spending time with her family, especially outdoors. Jill loves going for walks and hikes, travelling to the beach and the mountains, reading, cooking, and taking care of her plants.

In the future, Jill plans to continue growing her business while still maintaining the same level of personal service she provides for her clients. “I love helping people and seeing them happy. Homeownership is fantastic, and I’m really passionate about helping people find a good deal. I became a broker because I wanted not only to have fantastic service and fantastic products, I also wanted to be able to control the pricing. I wanted my clients to walk away saying, ‘That was awesome, I got the best deal.’ It’s a win-win for everybody.”
