Laura Faulkner took a long and winding road to the real estate industry. She started out her career in show business, traveling around the country as a performer for the Ice Capades. After graduating from the University of Washington, Laura served as the Director of Marketing for Ticketmaster’s Northwest Region. When she became the proud mother of twin daughters, Laura began seeking a career that fit her new lifestyle while complimenting her ambition and strong communication skills. Sure enough, real estate proved itself an ideal match. “Real estate is very much like show business,” Laura says. “You’re always trying to please your audience—in this case, our clients.”

Today, Laura is a Broker for Homes & Equity Real Estate Group, where she services clients throughout the Seattle metropolitan area and East King County. With the help of her nephew, Matt Keenan, she can offer clients assistance catered to their specific needs. She also specializes in new construction, having worked with numerous award winning builders in the area.

When listing a property, Laura can lean on her previous experience with show business and her degree in communications. On top of open house showings, she provides clients with listings on third party websites like New Home Source and an online marketing platform to spread the word about their home over social media. Elsewhere, Laura utilizes her long list of previous clients and contacts in the area to better match a home with a prospective buyer. “I always go the extra mile,” she says. “If there’s a way to go above and beyond for my clients, I will find it.”

Above all, Laura values her ability to understand and educate her clients throughout the process. Moreover, she strives to keep both her buyers and sellers included from start to finish. “They always say in real estate that silence is deadly,” Laura says. “People appreciate that touch of communication. It shows them that you’re looking out for their best interests.” For this empathetic and open approach to client relationships, Laura has earned a strong reputation in the area, with a large amount of her volume coming from either repeat clients or referrals.

Outside of her career, Laura remains active in her community. She is highly involved in Type 1 Diabetes advocacy with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, motivated by her twin daughters and their experiences with the condition. “The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s work is near and dear to my heart,” she says. “My daughters are fighting this battle everyday.”

Always looking to the future, Laura has ambitious plans for her business. While fostering her client base around Washington, she has set her sights on attaining her real estate license in California, which would allow her to handle clients across state lines. “The future is looking great,” Laura says. “We’re certainly busy up here in the Northwest.”

Laura enjoys frequent travel and uses technology to stay in touch, even when out of town or on another continent, such as when she went to Italy in 2019. She also values the successful life she has cultivated around her three daughters, her clients and her appreciation for human connection. “I love meeting new people and identifying her needs,” she says. “There’s nothing more rewarding.”
