John McNamara is a realtor based in North Central Washington selling commercial, agricultural, residential and waterfront properties throughout the state with special emphasis on the Lake Chelan, Douglas and Grant Counties and Columbia River areas. As an Alumni of the University of Washington, John is known as a “Realtor for ALL Seasons” because of his knowledge of the wide variety of properties he sells, from wheat farms and wineries in central Washington to the Methow Valley and the deep forests of the Cascade mountains. He has built a niche in these markets, but also represents large scale European and Asian buyers with specialized power and agricultural needs for rapidly emerging industries, at the cutting edge of technology in lowering emissions and in Datacenters. and with his ability to use his plane to show properties from the air and his close relationship and knowledge of local politics and Public Utilities brings great value to his clients. Many of his clients have extremely high value properties they do not wish to advertise especially in agriculture.

John developed an interest in real estate in the early 1980s, when he served as CEO of an aviation company that distributed and financed turboprop aircraft both nationally and internationally, and was able to use helicopters and airplanes to assist a real estate sister company with numerous large scale development projects. After a long and varied career in aviation real estate development and the software industry, he became a licensed agent and shortly thereafter received the highest awards given to top agents from two major companies. In 2018 he decided to start his own real estate company, Castlerock Int LLC. Since its creation, this year John received Homesnap’s top 1% Agent of the Year award and was named Fastest-Growing Agent, updating his earlier years’ highest awards.

John currently works with his wife, Laura, a licensed broker who handles not only sales calls but also the digital side of the business. John and Laura acknowledge the success they have achieved over the past two years is only because of their faith in God. They are proud to call Grace City in Wenatchee a dynamic and bible believing church their home. John’s wide range of experience is what sets him apart from other agents. He has traveled worldwide to 65 countries, conducting business all over the world including at the Paris and Farnborough International Airshows. A seasoned businessman and former real estate developer, he has accrued a vast array of skills and perspectives which have brought him success as a realtor and many valuable business relationships.

To market his listings, John utilizes a range of platforms such as LoopNet, Costar, and Homesnap, as well as social media, but as John says, his most important business by far comes from referrals. It certainly doesn’t hurt that John is a true people person and loves being able to work with people. His deepest reward is the strength and quality of the relationships established in his work. He also cares deeply for Washington’s natural environment where he was raised, and is proud to nurture and care for the land he calls home. John is aware of the effect his activities have on the landscape now and for future generations.

He knows that Washington is not the only state where his unique approach to real estate is valued and is planning to get licensed in Idaho and Montana.
