Top Real Estate Agent in Washington John Baker
With over a decade of experience in real estate, Top Real Estate Agent in Washington John Baker brings knowledge and professionalism to every transaction he is part of. John got his start in the business when a friend asked him to become a property manager for one of his income properties. Curious about the position, John decided to give it a try. “I had no experience in real estate, but I quickly grew to love it.” After obtaining his license, he joined the Century 21 Beutler office where he currently serves buyers and sellers throughout Spokane, Washington.
“One of my specific business goals is to achieve a high level of client satisfaction,” John Baker says when discussing what he prioritizes in his business. Since he frequently works with military families and seniors, he is always careful to give them an elite level of service. He approaches each client with a keen listening ear and an abundance of patience.
His efforts with clients have been recognized. John has been the recipient of the Quality Service Producer Award multiple times awarded by the national Century 21 office. “It’s important to be a good listener in this business. I pay careful attention to what my clients are trying to achieve because at the end of the day, we both want the same outcome.”
Washington’s John Baker believes his life experience has greatly contributed to his success as a REALTOR®.
“I’m in my 60’s and I have a lot of experience that many other agents may not have. I’ve had a lot of personal loss in my life throughout the years such as 3-time cancer survivorship – colon, prostrate, melanoma – spouse loss and child loss. It’s made me very motivated and focused on the important things in life. It’s been faith-strengthening and taught me to not waste time and to be careful about what I complain about,” he says. Words that describe Real Estate Agent John Baker? Self-discipline, humor; adaptable, passionate.
Another factor in his successful business is John’s strategic marketing. “I have a degree in Communications/Advertising from Washington State University. I worked in advertising media for 26 years, so I have a high appreciation for marketing. Modern technology has brought a new element into the mix, which I am happy to utilize to market my listings. I also lean on the wonderful Century 21 marketing system closely.”
Outside of work John loves spending time with his family. “Family is number one for me. They are at the center of my universe.” He is also deeply involved in his community and serves many non-profit agencies. Before becoming a REALTOR®, he served as board chair/board member for Wishing Star, a local wish-delivery organization for children with life-threatening illnesses. “I believe in the saying, ‘We earn a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.’
My two adult daughters and I participate in a 30-Mile/One-Day Hike known as ‘Extreme Hike for CF/Cystic Fibrosis’ coordinated by the Portland OR CF Chapter. In the first two hikes, my daughters and I have raised over $24,000 in pledges that go to support national CF research to improve the quality of living for the CF population affected by the respiratory disease affecting over 30,000 patients in the USA.” He is also a volunteer speaker in local Spokane High Schools for LifeCenter Northwest, the OPO, organ procurement office for four states, Washington Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
“The 55-minute classroom content includes the story of my daughter, Krista L Baker, who at age 20, was denied her hope for a life-saving double-lung transplant from the University of Washington in Seattle, but became a cornea donor through Sightlife to enhance the lives of two young men in Washington State. I am paired with a recipient who tells of their life-saving organ transplant journey.”
The passing of his daughter has also inspired John to contribute to his community by hosting a softball tournament in her honor. “For fourteen years after Krista’s passing in 2000, I organized the Krista L Baker Memorial Softball Tournament. It added pageantry to the excitement of SYSA, Spokane Youth Sports Association season end softball tournament, and provided a home run derby for all ages with terrific prizes. It raised awareness for the critical shortage of organ donors in our country. Today, over 20 folks die waiting each day for a life-saving organ transplant.”
Going forward Top Real Estate Agent in Washington John Baker is focused on serving his clients to the best of his ability. “I always want to be recognized as a Quality Service provider. I don’t measure success by the sales volume, it’s all about satisfied clients for me.” He continues to have a positive outlook on life despite having suffered much loss. “I have a wonderful family, three grandsons 9,7 and 5, and a loving girlfriend. I’m very blessed.”
