For Alex Fox, Owner and Broker of the boutique Allfirst Realty brokerage, providing clients with the highest level of service is the driving force behind his relentless work ethic. “I have built my whole brokerage with customer service in mind.” With over two decades of experience and industry knowledge, Alex helps buyers navigate the Maryland and Washington DC markets.

A majority of Alex’s business comes from repeat and referral sources, which he credits to his quality of service and focus on developing lasting relationships. “I work hard to develop a level of trust with my clients. That’s why we’ve kept the brokerage a boutique size, so that everybody—whether it’s a $50,000 home or a $2 million listing—can get personal, undivided attention. We always have somebody available to help them and to answer any questions they may have. When people get good results, they tend to come back,” he explains, and adds, “One thing that I instill in my agents is that our main responsibility is to remove barriers, enable communication channels, and make the transaction as painless as possible. This is a big step for many people, and they get very anxious. It’s our job to make it feel easy and seamless.”

Alex’s fastidious attention to detail is most apparent in his marketing strategy. “We have several proprietary tools which were developed in-house that enable us to do direct targeting. Our website is ranked high on Google, which helps us get a lot of leads, and we utilize social media platforms quite a bit. Thanks to our many years in the business, we’ve also built a large network of potential buyers.” The team’s hard work and dedication pays off in an impressive average of 300 transactions per year.

There’s no surefire recipe for success in the real estate business, but Alex believes that an affinity for helping people is, at the very least, a fundamental ingredient. “You have to understand human nature and want to help people in order to be successful in this business. Every deal is different because people’s personalities are different. I’m a social person and I enjoy dealing with various personalities. I’ve worked in the corporate world for a long time before I got into real estate, which I think set me up for success in working with different people and running my own business.”

Outside of work, Alex likes to donate to charitable organizations committed to finding a cure for cancer—a cause close to his heart. When he’s not busy, he enjoys spending time with his family and his bulldog Winston, playing golf and tennis, and going on hikes.

In the future, he plans to expand and help other agents achieve success. “My primary focus now is to help my agents develop their business and increase productivity. Several agents who have come to work with Allfirst Realty have improved their business by over 200% and it’s partly because they receive my undivided attention and mentorship. We have an in-house property management company, renovation company, and proprietary marketing tools that even the biggest agencies do not have, developed specifically for us to help our agents promote their listings. We offer a lot more than a singular real estate agent could offer, so my goal is to make those tools available to other agents.”
