Rebekah Schaaf got her start in real estate by way of interior design. “I always had an interest in real estate,” she remembers, and cut her teeth with remodeling and construction, as well as helping agents prep homes for market through interior design and remodels. “It seemed like a natural fit to earn my license and play a fuller part in the industry,” she says. Five years later, Rebekah has carved out a reputation as an agent in her own right, known for her creative eye, diverse experience, and personal touch.

Today, Rebekah spearheads her work as the owner of Homes by Rebekah, serving clients across the greater Kansas City Metro Area. There, a majority of her business is driven by repeat and referral clientele who trust her astute counsel and proven track record. “To me, it’s all about experience, honesty, and integrity,” Rebekah says. “I have a lot of background helping buyers and sellers at various stages. If they’re a buyer, I can help them get creative and imagine a home’s potential and opportunities for remodeling. From a seller’s standpoint, I stay up-to-date on design trends in the market and can help them figure out what updates are necessary, so that they can get the biggest bang for their buck when it comes to resale.” Rebekah also has experience working with new construction properties and assisting homeowners as they design and plan their custom dream homes. Above all, Rebekah relishes the human connection at the heart of every transaction and remains a resource for her clients long after the closing table has been reached. “My clients come to me because they trust the advice that they’re given, and I enjoy being that trusted advisor to them,” Rebekah says. “I really value my relationships with clients and a lot of them become long-term friends.”

When listing properties Rebekah first applies her design experience to appropriately prep homes for market. From there, properties are disseminated across the leading online listing platforms and social media outlets, where targeted ads and exposure create an immersive first impression. Last year, Rebekah closed roughly $17-million in volume, a glowing testament to her staying power and market knowledge. “One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to find something that you enjoy doing, because then it never feels like a job,” she says. “Helping people through real estate comes naturally because I found my niche and enjoy every day of it.”

Beyond the office, Rebekah gives back by contributing to breast cancer research and awareness, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and local businesses and charitable organizations. In her free hours, she most enjoys time spent with family and loved ones, cheering on her two sons at their various sporting events, exercising, gardening, cooking, and enjoying her lake community.

As for the future, Rebekah intends to keep business growing steadily as she maintains the superlative client care buyers and sellers have come to expect. Now, with five years of experience and insight behind her, Rebekah Schaaf considers what she enjoys most about her chosen field. “Every day is different,” she says. “I enjoy the personal satisfaction of helping others, and I love seeing the excitement on their faces when I’m able to find them what they’re looking for.”
