Susie’s clients describe her as knowledgeable about the market, hard working, loving and available. “The greatest compliment I can hear is that clients were happy with how I helped them and that they’d refer friends or family to me.” Most of Susie’s referrals do, in fact, come from past clients. “But a lot of past clients themselves come back!” she says. “I recently had someone call after eleven years and say, ‘Susie, do you remember me?’ and of course I did. Turns out he still had me in his phone. He said, ‘You did such a good job for me and I wanted to come back to you.’ Knowing someone remembered and wanted to work with me again was a great feeling.”
Susie dedicates herself to her clients’ needs, treating them with good communication, honesty and integrity. She imparts strong industry knowledge and shares every bit of information possible about each transaction. “I’m very detail oriented,” she says. “Buyers with knowledge do a more thorough job of evaluating the market and sellers with knowledge better understand the value of their homes. I consider it my responsibility to remove any stress and uncertainty so that people can enjoy the buying and selling process,” she says.
Clearly, Susie’s clients trust her. “I recently completed my first contract with a buyer site-unseen,” she explains. “He’s in the military and had to be in Japan for three weeks before arriving here,” she says. “They didn’t want to be put up in a hotel for a month or two looking for homes, so when they found a house online, they contacted me.” Using FaceTime, Susie walked the buyers through every room, explaining the house thoroughly. “They wrote an offer site-unseen.” Susie admits to being a bit nervous about this kind of transaction. “But they loved it and I just know they’ll be very happy. It’s a beautiful home.”
In addition to caring about her clients, Susie takes time to help the communities she serves and people in need. Her brand of giving is refreshingly unique, however; she doesn’t outwardly promote her giving. For example, although Susie donates a portion of every commission check to the Children’s Miracle Network, she doesn’t discuss this with clients unless they happen to ask. “I do it because I want to and because, to me, giving back is the right thing to do when you’ve been fortunate in business and life.”
The future looks bright for Susie. “I believe the steady growth of my business is a result of my ‘hands on’ approach with my clients. Though I’m strongly considering growing my business by adding an agent who can focus on buyers, I know that if I do expand, I won’t give up the client contact.” I’m very dedicated to my clients. I don’t want to let go of that!” Susie appreciates that she has become good friends with quite a few clients and business partners through her work. “It says a lot that we’re friends and that our relationships are special to me and to them.”
