Prior to getting into real estate, Erik Gimbel began his professional career as the CFO/COO of the largest pick-up and delivery dry cleaning and laundry service in the Chicagoland area. “My experience there honed my negotiating skills as I regularly engaged in collective bargaining contract negotiations with the country’s most powerful labor unions,” he notes. “I was also responsible for overseeing the company’s finances, sales, and operations.”
A true service professional, Erik ultimately decided to pursue his passion of real estate, so he could assist clients in achieving their goals of home ownership. He obtained his license in 2012 and has never looked back.
Erik Gimbel has joined EXP Realty to continue to expand the reach of his already well known brand in the North Shore and Chicago Markets. Erik reports that his business is 35% repeat and referral clientele. “I treat my clients’ transactions as if they were my own, and I know they appreciate that” he asserts. “I’m also savvy with the numbers and have complete versatility throughout the entire transaction.”
Erik is a top producer with extensive experience throughout the Chicagoland market. He was an award-winning broker his very first year and currently closes over $20 million in sales per year. He has been the recipient of the NSBAR Young Realtor of the Year Award 2014, Century 21’s Master Diamond Award 2016, and the Centurion Award 2017 & 2018. Erik reaches out to his clients once a month with personalized items of value. “I always offer them something useful or informative,” he says. “things like market updates and goings on in the community. I also try to keep up with birthdays and anniversaries.”
Utilizing professional photography, drone video, and online tools like virtual walk-throughs, Erik markets his listings using a variety of methods. “The best medium for me is Facebook,” he says. “I am able to direct target market to get my client’s home the most relevant exposure.” He also posts videos as well as advertises in local publications.
Erik says what he loves most about his profession is serving his clients. “I really enjoy working with first-time homebuyers,” he says. “Because they often know very little about the process, they entrust in me to educate and lead them through it. I also try to make the experience fun for them in order to lessen the intensity of what can be a stressful situation.”
As part of his efforts to give back, Erik is a member of the Highland Park Community Foundation board. “We raise money for people who are underprivileged or are special needs,” he says. “It’s very gratifying to help others in need.”
When not working or giving of his time, Erik enjoys riding his electric bike, all kinds of water sports, yoga, music, volleyball, baseball, ping pong, and especially spending time with his family.
As for the future, Erik wants to continue to grow his business. “Within five years, I hope to double my volume and to be the go-to guy for all things real estate,” he says.
