Life is a whirlwind for North Carolina Broker John-Mark Mitchell. In 2014, he started his own company based on independent luxury brokers, called Mitchell Prime Properties. Starting strong, they listed and sold a $980,000 property on their first day and haven’t showed signs of slowing down. The company has the fewest days on the market than any of the top ten listing brokers for homes sold in the luxury range.

“It’s been phenomenal,” John-Mark says, still in awe of it all. Although he is shocked and grateful for their continuous success, looking at his work history, it is not surprising that they are doing so well. Having been in the business for over 20 years, he has a long list of accomplishments, including becoming the #1 broker for eXp Realty, International for 2011, 2012 and 2013. He remains a stockholder in that company, helping to develop their luxury division stationed out of Seattle, Washington. A seasoned expert in the luxury segment, it just made sense for him to start his own company for the North Carolina market.

While he specializes in luxury properties, he does not limit himself to serving one area. Instead, he takes on the entire state of North Carolina. This has helped his client base grow exponentially and has also led him to work with Concierge Auctions as the Broker In Charge for the state. “The company is out of New York and caters towards auctioning high-end real estate. The properties have to be worth at least $2 million to qualify,” he says. Whenever a Concierge auction takes place in North Carolina, he is super- vising it and leading it to closing.

And though Mitchell Prime Properties mainly works with luxury homes, John-Mark is open to a range of properties.  “Sometimes, a $250,000 home is luxurious be- cause of its details and features,” he explains. No matter the price, he always approaches the transaction in the same way.  “I don’t go after a deal just to win. I don’t work to the detriment of the other party. I make sure it’s a positive experience for everyone involved, even those   I am not representing.”

Integrity plays a major role in how he does business. For him, it is important to put the client and their needs first. “We don’t lose focus on that. The customer is always the most important, it’s not about the deal. It’s about making people happy.” Those happy clients become repeat clients and refer him to anyone who needs a broker. “People remember that positive experience they had with us, and they want people they know to experience it, too.”

Those he works with attest that he is genuinely client-focused. Confidence is something John-Mark exudes, and it may be one of the main reasons he has achieved such great heights in the industry. After embarking on the real estate path, his life became a continuous success story. Others have taken notice of his unparalleled expertise, prompting him to give seminars and training for The Art of Selling Well. He is also co-authoring a book about success with Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and is looking forward to being on the Bestseller List.

Years ago, after being President of the Student Body at Campbell University, John-Mark was on the path to go to law school. But when he discovered real estate he never looked back. To- day, he has no regrets, and this industry has become a passion. “I love the people and the idea of helping someone find a home. I love the communication I have with other agents.
