Sometimes the best things in life happen completely by chance. Although, both of Whitney daSilva’s parents work in the real estate industry, she never expected to follow in their footsteps. When she was in her young 20s, Whitney happened to tell her mother about her roommate taking real estate classes. “She encourage me to give it a try,” Whitney recalls. “I was unsure about it but decided to go for it and quickly found that I loved the job.”
Seven years and hundreds of transactions later, Whitney is now the vice president of Allure Realty Inc., a full-service residential real estate brokerage where she is responsible for training and mentoring new agents. Whitney joined Allure Realty Inc. just one and a half years ago shortly after her friend founded the company, and has helped the firm quickly build a talented team of agents while maintaining her own extensive book of business. Based out of their office in Jersey City, New Jersey, Whitney runs a thriving book of business across Hudson, Bergen, Union, Essex, Middlesex and Passaic Counties, successfully closing over $12 million in transactions in 2019.
If you ask Whitney how she has managed to build out her business so quickly, she will credit her open communication and emphasis on providing stellar customer service as being the largest drivers of her success. “I’m 100% available to my clients and available day or night,” Whitney explains. “On top of this, I always approach every transaction with the clients best interests in mind. My business is centered on customer service rather than sales. That means I’m very straightforward with my clients and hands-on throughout the process.” This approach clearly resonates with people as more than 70% of Whitney’s business comes from repeat clients and referrals.
When it comes to marketing her listings, Whitney implements a fully customized online marketing campaign leveraging advertisements across numerous social media platforms and websites to drive attention to her client’s listings. In addition, she will reach out through her extensive network of local agents to target demographics of likely buyers and build further visibility. Whitney’s contact with her clients doesn’t end with the close of a transaction. “I feel like the closing day is just the beginning. I become apart of my client’s families, and that means more to me than the monetary gain. ”
Outside of work, Whitney loves to unwind at the gym, spend time with her friends and family, and enjoys going on vacations 3 to 4 times a year (though even then she’s available to her clients). Looking to the future, she is excited to continue growing Allure Realty, and eventually plans to open additional offices. “I love my job. I love interacting with people and helping them achieve their real estate goals. Buying or selling a home can be a complicated process but if you have the right agent it can be a breeze. I wake up every day excited to go to work and help my clients navigate the world of real estate.”
