With 18 years of experience, and a commitment to superior service, Dan has built a thriving business nourished by strong relationships with his clients. With an office located in Naperville, Illinois, Dan and his team effectively service Naperville and Chicago’s Western suburb communities. By always keeping his client’s needs first, Dan has managed to master the real estate universe.
Originally from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Dan joined the navy out of high school and was stationed in San Diego. After serving with the Navy, Dan began working in a rental house firm helping renters locate homes for rent. “I enjoyed helping people find homes to rent, but I knew I wanted to do more.” Dan returned to the Midwest, settled in Naperville, and in 1996 became a licensed Realtor. After nearly two decades of serving clients in Naperville and Chicago western suburbs, he’s proud of helping clients find homes in his area.
“Naperville is the 5th largest city in Illinois. The income level here is fantastic. We are consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top-ranked city. Our schools are among the best in the country. Last year, Naperville was ranked as the number one city for early retirees, and our local library won its sixth 5-star ranking by Library Journal Index, making it the best in the country. We have a commuter train that’s only a 30-minute ride into the city of Chicago, but suburban residents can get a taste of the city in Naperville too. We have amazing restaurants and the shopping here is fantastic. This is a wonderful place to live.”
Dan created created his team in 2008. “That was a tough time for realtors and our economy as a whole. I knew that if I wanted to successfully get through a bad housing market, I needed to get educated in areas of real estate I wasn’t previously experienced in. I became educated on short sales and foreclosures. I went to classes, got certified and learned how the process works. I knew that short sales and foreclosures might be the only business I’d have during the downturned market. Thankfully, I did so well during that time that it resulted in me being able to establish a team, the Call Firks First Team.” Despite the down economy, Dan sold $10 million in 2008.
Dan has found success by taking on any type of business. “Having a team allows us to work successfully with any client. We work with new construction homes, first-time homebuyers, military families, renters, I am Luxury Home Certified, an E-Pro, as well as a relocation specialist. We have some luxury homes that are 12,000 square feet, multiple acre estates, with five-car garages or more, with all the bells and whistles. Luxury homes are enjoyable because there is always unique design work that lends to the indulgence of the home. That said, buying and selling a home is the biggest transaction in most people’s lives, so I provide every client with superior service.”
During his prestigious career, Dan has ranked among Illinois finest real estate agents. He sold over a 100 homes for a whopping $23 million dollars. For his efforts, Dan ranks among the top 1% of agents nationwide and has been honored with the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, RE/MAX 100% Club, RE/MAX Executive Club and RE/MAX Chairman’s Club. For the past two years Dan has been ranked by Chicago Magazine as a “5-Star Real Estate Agent.” Dan is also ranked as a five star agent on Zillow and a Trulia pro. “Hiring me means you have hired the finest in real estate representation available today. I receive compliments from people all the time about the way I conduct my business and about the professionalism that I demand of myself, my team and my company.”
Outside of his career, Dan enjoys the arts, theater, skiing, and traveling. Dan is very active in local community service, volunteering weekly at the local food pantry, and is a member of both the Chamber of Commerce and the neighborhood country club. Dan is also the proud owner of a giant schnauzer. “I love taking my dog out for walks and runs. My first giant schnauzer was an assistant therapy dog. We would go into the pediatrics section of the hospital with the kids who were down and out. As soon as I would walk in with a 100-pound schnauzer, I would at least put a smile on their faces. For a little while they would forget about the illness that they have.”
Ultimately, a career in real estate has been the perfect fit for Dan. “This is one of the most fascinating jobs one could ever have. You have to be an incredibly talented person at the top of your game to succeed in this industry. I am very proud of my career, proud to have helped so many people and it’s an honor to be a REALTOR®.”
