TOP REAL ESTATE AGENT IN CANADA NADIA CIANCOTTI
Nadia Ciancotti’s real estate career began on a dare. “Over 30 years ago, I was preparing to get into law school, and I had a friend who was in real estate,” Nadia recalls. “She would say to me, ‘You’d be great in real estate!’ But I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a corporate lawyer. Finally, my friend said, ‘You probably don’t want to come into real estate because you’re afraid that you’re not going to make it!’ That was a challenge to me. The next day I signed up to get my broker’s license, and 6 weeks later, I was a real estate broker!” The rest is history, and for 30+ years, Nadia has excelled at helping her clients achieve their real estate goals.
With RE/MAX Action, Nadia serves Montreal and the surrounding area. An impressive 98% of her business comes from repeat and referral clients, a feat that speaks to the trust and confidence Nadia inspires. “I work purely on referrals,” Nadia says. “I’ve always worked with one idea in mind, and that is: If it’s not good enough for me, why would I sell it to you? I’m a true believer that I can’t sell something to somebody if I wouldn’t buy it myself. Clients appreciate my brutal honesty, and that is a big part of what keeps them loyal, coming back, and referring me consistently on a regular basis. I believe that the best publicity you could ever get is a referral from a happy client.”
Clients also value the quality of the service Nadia provides. “I’m a little impatient when it comes to waiting for information, and so when clients contact us about anything looking for an answer, we make sure we respond within an hour with the answer to their question. We don’t keep them waiting. People feel confident and comfortable working with me and my assistants.”
When it comes to marketing, Nadia uses a comprehensive approach tailored to the individual listing. “Pricing is key,” she explains. “If it’s priced right, you don’t have to do that much marketing.” Nadia supplements this with extensive marketing on social media, as well as marketing to the surrounding area. “Sometimes the person down the street has a friend who’s looking to move into the area, so that works very well.”
Giving back to her community is of utmost importance to Nadia. She was recently the Honorary President at the annual golf tournament for the LaSalle Hospital Foundation which was a spectacular success. Nadia is also part of the finance committee to raise funds for a new Palliative Care Center, and has recently joined the Marici Organization, which helps victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse. When she is not working or giving back, Nadia enjoys golf, cycling, yoga, tennis, rollerblading, and being on the water.
In the future, Nadia plans to continue growing her business, with a goal of doubling her production volume. “Until the day I die, I will be in real estate,” Nadia says. “I love it that much. It’s my passion. I have absolutely no regrets about abandoning my dream of being a corporate lawyer and becoming a real estate broker; it’s the best thing I ever did! I get to meet outstanding people every day, and every day is different. Even the problems are different! I’ve become an awesome problem solver due to real estate, and it’s helped me everywhere else in my life, which is amazing. I don’t think I’m ever going to retire from real estate.”
