Top Agent Maggie Larson, Owner/Broker of Sierra Resort Property Management and Broker Associate for Resort Property Realty, Inc. in scenic Mammoth Lakes, California has her finger on the pulse of the market in this popular resort town in the Sierra Nevada mountains. As a proud  Realtor who represented the buyers on Season 1 of a show on HGTV called Sharing Paradise filmed in Mammoth Lakes, Maggie’s combination of hard work, extensive local market knowledge and her commitment to providing her clients with the very best service have solidified her reputation as an agent who can be trusted to provide honest, ethical real estate guidance.

Maggie began her journey in real estate in 2005, when she got licensed so she could work as an assistant part-time. In 2012, she found herself a single mother raising five children – Crystal, Wayne, Christina, Roland and Luke – so she rolled up her sleeves, obtained her Broker’s license, and opened her own property management company, which currently consists of over one hundred rentals that she manages, while simultaneously selling residential properties.

Currently working solo, Maggie sells up and down the 100-mile Sierra Corridor, though she primarily focuses on the upscale, world-renowned ski resort of Mammoth Lakes. “The majority of the homes here are second vacation homes,” says Maggie. “Many of my clients come from San Diego and Southern California” The majority of Maggie’s business is based on referrals, something she is justifiably proud of. When asked to account for the trust her clients have placed in her, she grows thoughtful for a moment before replying. “I think it has a lot to do with my drive and my perseverance. I’m very diligent, focused, and I work a lot of hours,” she says.

Maggie cherishes and nurtures the relationships she forms with her clients, and works hard to maintain contact with them. “Back in the day, we stayed in touch through phone calls,” she says. “But now with today’s technology, it’s through social media. I’m very, very involved with social media: Facebook, Instagram, I have all those set up and have quite a large following through my personal and business pages.” Still, she looks forward to one-on-one contact with them when possible. “The point of buying in Mammoth is to come here to vacation,” she says. “So we’ll hang out and have dinner or spend evenings with each other and their families depending on everyone’s schedule.”

When asked what she likes most about what she does, Maggie again points to the relationships she forms with her clients. “I work very hard to provide for my family,” she says, “ but at the end of the day, it’s really about the relationships, and almost always, they become lifetime friendships. So I love that, and I love helping people. When my clients are looking for a home, it’s one of the most important things that could happen in their life and it feels great to be able to be a part of making their dream a reality.”

The appreciation her clients feel for Maggie is perhaps made most evident by the reviews she has received for her services, including this one from, on which site she maintains a perfect five-star overall rating: “I purchased my condo from Maggie over a decade ago and she has also managed my winter rental since then. She has been wonderful! All the most important details, as well as the small ones, are always taken care of in a timely manner. I don’t know what I would do without her.”

Looking to the future, Maggie’s plans are to continue growing her business while sacrificing none of the exceptional service that has become her calling card. She is particularly excited that her son Wayne has recently joined her team and Roland  will soon be joining her company, and she looks forward to the day she can hand over the reins of her business to the next generation and generations to come.

When asking Maggie what she enjoys doing in her free time this was her response.  “When time permits I enjoy traveling and going for long walks in the beautiful Eastern Sierra.  Enjoying the simple things in life as in spending quality time with my husband Kenny, all of our 8 children together and grandchildren are priceless”.

When asked what advice she might have for anyone contemplating a career in real estate, Maggie points to her own motto: You can’t move forward in life if you’re constantly looking behind you at the past. “So stay strong,” she says, “move forward in life, never stop, and never give up on your dreams. Ever.”
