TOP MORTGAGE PROFESSIONAL IN ILLINOIS JESSE BYRER
Jesse Byrer got into the finance business in 2002 as a wholesale representative. He moved on to become a successful loan officer and has made a name for himself in the industry. Jesse shares, “I noticed my friends were doing well in the business. My identical twin brother, Jonas, got into the industry first, and then I decided to follow suit. We got our start as wholesale representatives, but we both went in different directions when the market collapsed in 2007. I decided to be a loan officer.” Currently, top mortgage professional in Illinois Jesse Byrer is a licensed loan officer in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas and serves as the branch manager of Prospect Mortgage in Schaumburg, Illinois. He has 18 loan officers who report to him and manages one of the top branches in the country. Jesse and his twin brother now work alongside each other at the firm. “We joke we are the ‘mortgage brothers’ kind of like the HGTV show called ‘Property Brothers,’ Jesse says with a laugh. “My brother is the banker and helps structure loans for clients.”
When the market changed in 2007, Jesse saw an opportunity to grow his business. “It used to be a buyer’s market. There was a huge change on how to manage foreclosures after the market dropped. The foreclosure guys gave me a shot at first, so I continued to go after the renovation market, and that is how my career took off. Since then, I have spent the past seven years perfecting and becoming proficient in the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) 203 (k) process that used to be executed by only a couple lenders. In 2010, broker relationships were taking that program away. That’s when Prospect Mortgage recruited me, and I have been with them since.”
Jesse explains, “I work with first-time home buyers all the way to investors. If you are going to be successful in this business, it is important to learn how to serve everybody. I work to help all my clients simultaneously. It’s about creating awareness and helping people. I’m passionate about restoring the confidence of investing in real estate and enjoy explaining the numbers and logistics as to why real estate is still a good investment for homeowners and investors. I like helping people buy foreclosures and create significant equity. Where else can people go out and create that kind of money that quickly? As long as you have the right team, it takes most of the risk out of the purchase.”
When asking what clients enjoy about working with him, Jesse says, “I embrace technology and all forms of communication whether it be by phone, text, email or face-to-face. I’m flexible and am knowledgeable about diverse products.” Jesse adds, “I try to run to an opportunity but run even faster to a problem. As long as you show clients you are genuine in your efforts to resolve the matter, they respect that.”
When Jesse is on his off hours, he likes spending time with his family, helping the community and playing sports. He says, “I like taking vacations with my family, and I’m always willing to contribute to a variety of charitable causes. I am an active guy and played football and basketball. Being born in Indiana, I was pretty much born with a basketball in hand,” he laughs.
