For Lani Fisher, working as an agent is all about empowering the members of her community to achieve their real estate goals. “When I was growing up, the idea of owning a home wasn’t really talked about, and it wasn’t something I thought I would ever be able to do,” Lani explains. “Now that I am both a homeowner and an agent I can help so many people who come from the same type of background achieve their dreams of homeownership.”

Lani’s path towards working in the real estate industry was anything but normal. After attending school to be a teacher, Lani received a phone call from her half-sister letting her know that their biological mother had had a heart attack and was in a vegetative state. Lani immediately traveled to Las Vegas to work through all the necessary medical decisions with her family, and while she was there, discovered that her half-sister was a transaction coordinator for a local brokerage. Through their conversations about the industry, Lani developed a deep interest in real estate, and upon returning home to Washington decided to get her license.

Today, Lani is the lead broker and owner of Lani Fisher Homes. Based out of their office in Tacoma, Lani and her team run a thriving book of business throughout King, Pierce, Thurston, and Kitsap County.

If you ask her how she has managed to enjoy so much success, Lani will credit her genuine attitude and heavy involvement in the community as being the primary drivers of her business. “I’m always focused on my client’s best interests rather than my commission. This allows us to develop truly genuine connections as I help them navigate the process,” Lani tells Top Agent. “On top of this, I have a high profile in the community because of how involved I am. For example right now I’m helping support several families that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 by regularly bringing them food.”

When it comes to listing a property, Lani carries out a methodical procedure to ensure her clients’ property gets get the attention it needs and deserves. After collecting general information about their financial situation, Lani walks through the home and creates a strategy to ensure that it will look it’s absolute best before photos are taken. She then implements a comprehensive online marketing campaign that leverages ads across Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more than 300 websites to drive traffic to her showings and open houses. Concurrently she reaches out through her network of regional realtors to shop the listing around with their clients.

Lani’s contact with her clients doesn’t end with the close of a transaction. As she is friends with all of them on Facebook, she uses a combination of the social media platform and phone calls to stay up-to-date with their lives. In addition she hosts numerous appreciation events throughout the year, and typically plans two to three lunches and/or dinners with past clients every week.

Outside of work, Lani loves to read, cook, and give back to her community. Looking to the future, she is excited to grow her team, and has a goal of donating $1 million to various community organizations. “I’m in the process of adding several agents to my team, and I’m so excited to help them grow and become financially successful. I feel that because of my position of success it’s up to me to give back. For me, real estate is just a vessel for me to help others.”
