With her determination and her dedication to helping clients succeed, Kim Sanner sets herself apart in her local market as a REALTOR® who can get the job done. Kim followed her dad into the business, getting her real estate license at 24 and her broker’s license at 26. “My dad had been selling real estate since the ’70s, and I loved growing up with him being around and available to coach me on the softball field,” Kim says. “I knew real estate would be a good career to have that flexibility to be there for my family.”

Kim Sanner worked on a team with her dad for 25 years, until her husband’s death from cancer led her to embark on a new journey. “My good friend who owns a local construction company started his own real estate brokerage, Enkasa Homes, and invited me to come manage it,” Kim says. “I took a leap of faith, and off we go!” The team became very successful very quickly, selling close to $60 million in the last year, and proving that Kim’s leap of faith paid off.

Based in Walnut Creek in the East Bay, about 30 mins outside of San Francisco, Kim serves the area including Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, Alamo, Danville, and the surrounding towns. Being in the business for as long as Kim has, the majority of her business comes from referrals from past clients and her sphere of influence. It’s easy to see why people keep coming back to work with Kim again and sending their friends and family to her. “The main thing I’ve learned is that people work with people they like,” Kim explains. “The important thing is putting yourself out there and being your real, authentic self. Clients appreciate honesty, integrity, and authenticity.”

With the new company, Kim has expanded her horizons in new and exciting ways. “Since my boss owns the construction company, he has a large sphere of high-end buyers and sellers,” she says. “That has thrust me into a whole new realm, and it has also gotten me involved in selling land, which I had never done before. It’s really interesting because even though the real estate market has slowed down, people are still buying land! It’s really exciting to be busy during this downturn, and to be having fun doing it.”

When she’s not working, Kim loves to get out and hike in the area. “We have some of the most amazing hiking trails around here,” she says. “When you get up to the top of some of these hills, you have views of the whole valley, and you can even sometimes see all the way across to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. It’s really beautiful where I live, and my love language is getting out there and hiking on the trails.”

Looking toward the future, Kim is excited about her shift toward land and new construction. “We plan to dive deep into finding sellers who are having a hard time selling land and offering them a solution by marketing and advertising it differently,” she says. “People get scared when they’re buying land because it’s uncertain. We can offer them conceptual plans and we have one of the high-end contractors in the area who can talk to them about what it takes to build a home. We are trying to create a whole package for buyers so land is not scary, and so they can walk right in and start their build.”
