“I always had a passion for real estate,” Nick Speirs remembers. Before his career as an agent began, Nick had already built a career as an operating building engineer—a profession he continues today. When a close friend and broker, Jonathan Matute, suggested that Nick try his hand at the business, he decided to take on the challenge. Now, he capably balances his work as an engineer with his dynamic role as a Realtor. What’s more, he has built a reputation for expert knowledge, structural insight, and a proven track record of success.

Under the banner of Alexander Madison Realty, Nick serves clients across the Nassau County region of Long Island, in addition to Queens County and Suffolk County. In the time since launching his real estate enterprise, Nick has managed to drive more than half of his business through repeat and referral clientele who trust his unique professional experience, network of industry resources, and amiable demeanor. Likewise, he also rehabs and flips homes alongside his partner, and has developed on-the-ground insight into the market. “I love the opportunity to help others approach real estate,” he says. “Especially when working with first-time home buyers, I’m able to help them understand the mechanics of a house and I break it down in a way they understand.” His positions as an engineer, agent, and property investor have also allowed him to build a network of esteemed contractors and industry pros that he refers to buyers and sellers in need. “I connect my clients with trusted vendors, give them access to better pricing, and even after the closing is over, I remain a resource,” he says. “It’s just a way to go the extra mile for people and help them find contractors and renovators they can trust.” In fact, Nick cites his preferred attorney, Asaf German, as one of the outstanding professional partners who have added value to his business.

When listing properties, Nick preps each property prior to its market debut. Through easy fixes, renovations, or otherwise, he ensures all homes are in a prime position for strategic pricing. Then, listings are disseminated across a host of online listing platforms, sourcing an ideal buyer in short order. Whether working with buyers or sellers alike, Nick often forms close connections with those he serves. “I often become friends with a lot of my clients. I joke with that because this process can be time-consuming and emotional, it’ll be like we’re married for two months,” he says. “I want to be a one-stop-shop, and I’m fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible team of professionals who I trust.”

Beyond the office, Nick and fellow agents at Alexander Madison Realty contribute to their community through the Merrick Chamber of Commerce, while Nick is an avid participant and triathlons, many of which support worth causes, such as the ASPCA. He enjoys traveling with his wife Melissa who has been a big support for him with his career. They also enjoy hanging out and adventuring with their two dogs and two cats.

As for the future, Nick intends to continue his growth organically, supporting buyers and sellers as they navigate the path to homeownership. Now, with years of experience and insight behind him, Nicholas Speirs considers some of the lessons learned along the way. “No matter what, I try to do right by everyone,” he says. “I want my clients to feel confident that they’re taken care of. At the end of the day, if you do right by people, the rest follows.”
