Two years ago, Tricia Wilson was ready for her next professional challenge. Real estate had always intrigued her, and after earning her license, she finally decided to take the plunge. In the time since, Tricia has cemented her reputation as an agent swiftly on the rise, complete with a reputation for transparency, strategy, and a personal touch.
Today, Tricia spearheads her work under the banner of Chaney Homes a local leader known for its superior staging services. While she goes where clients leads across greater Maryland, she largely caters to clientele in the Queen Anne’s County region. Year-over-year, Tricia has enjoyed tremendous growth, and credits her brokerage for its guidance and support along the way. “Being a part of Chaney Homes has been an amazing experience,” she says. “I knew I had to be able to differentiate myself in a crowded real estate market, and having the Chaney name behind me does that right off the bat.” In describing the working style she’s developed, Tricia cites communication and personal connection as some of the primary drivers of her early success. “I really feel connected with my clients. We’re on a journey together,” she says. “I remind my clients that this isn’t about me, it’s about them. I don’t try and push them; I stay calm, I’m easygoing, and I want to give my clients the comfort and security to make the best decision possible.”
When listing properties, Tricia leaves no detail unaccounted for—from high-quality photography and video walkthroughs, to Matterport 3D virtual tours, aerial footage, and staging services offered by Chaney Homes with all of their listings. Once homes are prepped and have made their market debut, Tricia secures far-reaching visibility through target marketing, broad exposure across the leading online listing platforms, and strategies that sell homes to the right buyer, in short order. In fact, many of her listings had stalled with other agents, and Tricia made a track record of astutely moving homes off the market. “There is no one-size-fits-all approach,” she explains. “For every listing, you have to be cognizant of the tools in your arsenal. Knowing how and when to use them is key.”
Beyond the office, Tricia and her office make sure to support their community through sponsorships of various local events. Likewise, Tricia is in the midst of launching Pete’s Promise, in honor of her rescue dog. For every client who buys a home and wants to add a new pet to their family, she intends to cover the adoption fee, or donate in that family’s honor. In her free hours, Tricia most enjoys time spent with her family, boating, crabbing, and enjoying eastern shore living.
As for the future, Tricia intends to keep progress steady as she builds her business. “I always want to set and achieve new goals,” she says. “I don’t want to limit myself; I just want to see where this industry can take me.” Now, with two sterling years of experience behind her, Tricia considers what she’s come to value most about her chosen field. “I really enjoy the journey, getting to know people, and building that trust,” she says. “It’s a huge responsibility to walk alongside my clients as they make one of the biggest purchases of their lives. I’m here to advise them, point out the options, and walk them through. There are ups and downs, but I enjoy that personal connection at the heart of it. That’s what keeps me going.”
