For Ellie Hitt, entering the real estate world was an easy choice. She was working in physical therapy and doing real estate settlements as a notary and title producer for her step father. “I used to drive around looking at houses for fun, and when the doctor I was working for left the practice, I decided it was time for a career move,” she explains. So she took the leap and earned her real estate license, as it combined her love of real estate with her experience in contracts. Eighteen years later, she’s still loving every minute of it. Serving Maryland and Northern Virginia, primarily Montgomery County, Frederick and Prince George’s county, the vast majority of her business consists of repeat clients and referrals. By providing superior service and guiding each person through the process, she continues to grow with each passing year.

“I’m really passionate about what I do,” she says. “I just love it. It’s so rewarding. My clients become my friends.” She treats each buyer and seller like family, only wanting what is best for them. For her buyers, she sits down to go over exactly what they are looking for, and doesn’t stop searching until their dream home is found. Meanwhile, her sellers enjoy thorough marketing of their property, with Ellie listing it on all the top real estate websites as well as on social media. For both buyers and sellers, Ellie utilizes her negotiation skills to get them the best deals possible. It’s clear she’s doing it right, as 2020 was her best year yet with her completing just shy of $25 million in volume.

When Ellie isn’t working, she’s giving back to the community. “Domestic violence is my biggest cause,” she explains. “I used to help organize silent auctions, where the profits went to help women and families affected by domestic violence.” Although the pandemic has put a halt to many of her previous activities, Ellie makes sure to continue donating to the women’s shelter and providing food to those in need.

Looking ahead, Ellie has her sights set on building a team, but is truly enjoying where is at this moment. “I want to remain very hands-on, as the personal relationships with my clients are the most important thing to me,” she says. Wherever this path leads, she is no doubt grateful for every minute of it. “What I do is so gratifying and rewarding, I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
