Laura Rahilly doesn’t keep track of how many deals she’s closed in a year – that’s why she has a business manager. What Laura keeps track of is her clients’ needs and best interests. “My focus isn’t on the numbers,” Laura says. “It’s on the clients.”

That focus, and the attention to detail that comes with it, has led to Laura’s immense success in the Chicagoland area. Serving the whole area but mostly focusing on the north side, Laura has built her business since she got into real estate in 2006. Today Rahilly and Associates boasts a stunning 95% return and referral rate, which speaks to the power of Laura’s customer service. “I listen to what they’re asking for and educate them on the market,” Laura says. “My job isn’t to just get them into a transaction, it’s to educate them so they can make a sound decision.”

One way that Laura guides her clients through the process is creating a relaxed, trust-based relationship with them. “I’m a straight shooter,” she says. “I’m very direct with my clients and I think that I have a friendly nature that allows them to respond to me in a more relaxed way.”

Laura brings her background in art and design into her work, helping clients get past an undesirable bathroom or kitchen and see the potential in the home. “I help my clients with renovations and know the right contractors to refer,” she says. “I’ve had clients who have no intention of moving in the next five years or so reach out to me for support in their renovations that are intended to bring value down the road.”

Laura takes pride in making sure she surrounds herself with good energy, which includes her long time administrative business manager, Amy Fine, who has been licensed in real estate 15 years. Amy handles all correspondence on the back end so Laura can dedicate her time in the field working hands on with clients. In addition, Laura’s team, Rahilly & Associates, includes Megan Haggans, who is also a full time field broker. Real estate is a 24/7 business and between the three brokers they are able to provide exceptional customer service.

Laura has merged her own personal interest in wellness with her career, sending clients a quarterly magazine called Start Healthy. On one level it’s a way of staying in touch with past clients, but it has more meaning than just marketing. “I’m kind of a wellness junkie,” she laughs. “Getting into a new home is a great way to make a new start, and I want to help people learn how to live healthy in their new homes & lifestyles.”

While she’s busy as a field agent, constantly juggling showings, renovations & clients, interfacing with her business manager and mentoring members of her team, Laura makes time to give back. She recently has volunteered for Lincoln Park Community Shelter, preparing healthy food to her less fortunate neighbors, as well as also volunteers her time with Habitat for Humanity and supports GiGi’s Playhouse, a facility for children with Down Syndrome.

Laura looks to a bright future of expansion and growth – she wants to continue assisting in renovations for clients’ needs and desires, bring on more dedicated team associates and become licensed in one or two more states, all while she still keeps her focus on her clients’ needs. “I like to learn about my clients’ everyday lives and lifestyles, because I think that’s what helps me understand what will be the right property for them – one that is not just the right price, in the right location, but also with the right design to compliment their lifestyle.”
