Marcus Payne of Cordele, Georgia, launched a successful real estate enterprise by pairing his financial expertise with an unparalleled work ethic and approachable personality. “I’m a people person, and I think people can immediately tell that I’m the type who goes above and beyond. I always tell my clients that their interests come way before my own – I keep that at the forefront of my mind and just make it happen.”
Before entering the world of real estate, Marcus enjoyed a successful career trading stocks. “Originally I was only interested in investment properties. I took the licensing course in January, was fully licensed by February, and just fell in love with real estate.” After joining up with Keller Williams Realty Middle Georgia, Marcus formed an LLC, DP LeQuin Realty, to launch his business, and in seven short months he has found tremendous success. He’s currently emerging as one of the top twenty percent of individual agents in his brokerage (which is the #1 brokerage in Middle Georgia, housing over 219 agents), and he is currently on pace to close out his first year as a REALTOR® with over $5 million in total volume. “I have a background in marketing and business, and that helped me start off on the right foot. I’m the type that’s one hundred percent all in, or all out. Once I decided this was the industry for me, I dove in head first.”
In addition to his financial background, Marcus attributes his meteoric success to the diligent routines and systems he has created for both his personal and professional life. “Every day, I’m in the gym by 5:00 AM – I’m a fitness fanatic. When people are waking up that’s when my phone starts ringing, so I have to beat most people awake to get my gym time in. Every three days, I do a drip campaign to stay in touch with people, and I use my own database to make sure I meet clients based on where they are in the process. I communicate well, and I always get back to people.” In addition to his targeted advertisements, Marcus prides himself on his digital marketing presence. He leverages three separate MLS’s in addition to the MLS housed at Keller Williams, runs his own website, and funnels traffic through multiple Facebook pages. “I’m kind of OCD about my marketing material – it’s always neat, and just attracts people.”
By grounding his endeavors in systematic routines, Marcus has solidified his position in the industry, and he is looking forward to the upcoming opportunities in his hometown. “In three years I’d like to have my broker’s license, and ultimately, I do want to have a team of agents working with me. Right now my plan is to hire a transaction coordinator and buyer’s specialist, and eventually a listing’s specialist.” As his business grows, Marcus is excited to share his success with the extended community. He has recently joined the Chamber of Commerce in Middle Georgia, regularly sponsors local sports teams, and donates five percent of his net commission to mental health. “I also run a Breast Cancer walk that I started years ago – I run it every October, and I’m excited to have my real estate business involved in it. I only recently moved to the Warner Robins area, but I already love it here, and I’m grateful that I get to meet so many new people and make different connections – the people side of real estate is really big to me.”
