After working with a public company in a senior management position in sales and marketing, Lorie Farley decided to throw herself into real estate after moving to Nova Scotia from British Columbia in 2009. With the amazing support of her family and a passion for real estate, she began her new calling, learning as much as she could about the business. Her career took off and today she works as a solo agent serving buyers and sellers in the unique town of Middleton, the Nova Scotia Bay of Fundy and the Annapolis Valley, which spans from Digby to Windsor and is one of Canada’s best fruit-growing regions and the home of a bustling wine industry.

What’s the key to Lorie’s success? She has a passion for serving others and treats clients the way she would want to be treated, offering them her undivided attention and putting her expertise and hard work towards accomplishing the goal they’ve set, whether that be to sell their current home, or find and purchase their dream home. She goes the extra mile for her clients and does her absolute best during each step of the process–the result is a reputation for honesty and a business that takes care of itself. She pours her many years of corporate experience in sales and marketing into every transaction to obtain the best results for her clients. Her listings are effectively showcased throughout Nova Scotia, Canada and the world. Lorie’s uncanny negotiating skills give her clients the upper hand. Her clients rave about the service she provides and as a result, after seven years as an agent, over half of her business comes from repeat or referral clients.

What makes her clients eager to spread the word about Lorie? “I encourage others to be happy. Happiness is a choice. I’m always honest and treat others with respect. I honor my responsibility to myself and others,” she says. To market listings, Lorie uses a wide range of tailored methods such as custom signage, social media, property fliers, radio ads, and listings on the MLS and on her two popular websites. Most important is the listing with her brokerage, Viewpoint Realty Services, which provides marketing leads and exposure to more than 32,000 registered users. She also utilizes word of mouth by talking to other agents and brokerages in Nova Scotia and across the country about her listings. She helps clients connect with stagers who can make their listing really shine. Once a transaction is over, Lorie maintains strong relationships with past clients by dropping in for short visits and sending unexpected emails, postcards and invitations to events in the area.

Lorie’s favorite parts of the job include specializing in residential and country real estate, relocating buyers and sellers, receiving referrals and working with past clients. To stay involved with her community, Lorie is a Rotarian and a member of the Valley Women’s Business Network. She has a lifelong love for horses and is a member of the American Paint Horse Association and the Canadian Kennel Club. Her greatest passion is to give back to the community she lives in. In her cherished free time, she enjoys working with her husband, challenging herself with her horse and participating in horse riding clinics in western pleasure and reining, taking long walks with her four Labradors, and traveling to see family and friends. For the future, she hopes to continue to do her job so well that her clients tell others about her amazing work. Now that’s a goal her clients and community can get behind!
