When Monique Fuentes decides to pursue something, she puts her entire heart into it. She has quickly become a top agent in the greater Contra Costa County area. After earning her bachelor’s in early childhood education, her natural talent for real estate was spotted by another REALTOR®, who encouraged Monique to obtain her license. In 2005, Monique became a REALTOR® and was flourishing until the market began to crash in 2007, so she decided to use her teaching degree and began teaching at The Little Gym, and later as a mentor teacher at Celebration Christian Preschool.
As real estate bounced back and her youngest son entered kindergarten, she knew it was time to return to her true calling as an agent in 2014. “It’s been the best decision, I have steadily climbed year after year.” That progress was not stifled by the pandemic, as Monique pivoted and learned new skills that bolstered her career. Serving as President for the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Delta in 2020, her network was one of the best performing in the state, being one of four that were asked to speak at a state meeting on how they pivoted during the pandemic.
Today she is truly thriving and has started building her team. As a certified divorce real estate expert with the Ilumni Institute and author of popular eBook series The Divorce Dare, Monique is particularly equipped to handle the unique real estate challenges that divorce presents. “I’ve started to work with family law cases,” Monique explains. “I am currently the only agent in the county with this certification serving the family law community!” Whether her clients are going through a divorce, trying to purchase their first house, or selling their investment properties, Monique and her team go above and beyond to achieve their goals. By listening to their needs, they are able to create customized plans, guiding them through every step. This eliminates stress and creates an enjoyable experience for all involved.
One buyer/seller raved, “My experience working with Monique was fabulous! She’s professional, responsive, understanding and simply a great REALTOR® to work with. You can count on her to maintain a positive attitude from start to finish. I would be happy to work with her again in the future!”
When Monique isn’t working, she’s enjoying everything her area has to offer. You can find her country line dancing or in a specialty hip hop group called Chic at The Vault studio in Brentwood. Throughout the week she engages with her social media followers, providing market updates on Mondays, ‘Teaching Tuesdays’ where she teaches the community about all things real estate, winning Wednesdays, and ‘Fun Family Fridays’ where she promotes local events.
As the future unfolds, Monique hopes to keep serving a wide range of buyers and sellers. She also looks forward to speaking and teaching on a local, state, and national level for the Women’s Council of REALTORS® and the Leadership Institute. Monique will enjoy each passing moment, as she is undoubtedly living her dream. “I know my purpose and am excited to share it with the world!”
