Trained in photography, Michelle worked as a headshot photographer before embarking on her real estate journey. “What I loved about being a portrait photographer was all the people I got to meet,” she explains. “I loved the excitement of working with different people all the time. When I bought my first condo in 2000 and saw how real estate worked firsthand, I thought: this is kind of cool!” Michelle got her license, and the rest is history. “In real estate we’re in the people business,” she says. “Yes, we sell homes, but really we are helping people with their lives.” And that’s exactly what Michelle has been doing for her 20 years in real estate.
Along with her team, Bay Real Estate Group, Michelle serves the entire Bay Area including San Francisco, the East Bay, and the North Bay. She praises the area for its leading role in innovation and technology. “The center of invention for the entire country is here,” Michelle says. “San Francisco has always been an entrepreneurial city, from the gold rush in 1849 right up to the present day with so many prominent tech companies having their headquarters here. This is a spirited, special place.” Michelle and her team love to partner with local small businesses to promote and preserve that unique local flavor.
Michelle points out that her team is uniquely well suited to serve clients no matter where in the Bay Area life takes them. “Many of our clients start out in San Francisco and end up moving to the East Bay or Marin,” Michelle explains. “We cover all of those areas so that we can help you find ‘Your First and Forever Home.’”
An impressive 70% of Michelle’s business comes from repeat and referral clients, and it’s not surprising so many people come back to work with her again. “I always say that I have a practice, because I don’t look at things in a transactional way. Because of that, my clients have been so generous and loyal,” Michelle says. “Real estate is a great investment, but it’s primarily a place to live. It’s so important to pick the right place and community, and working with the right agent is critical to that success.”
Michelle’s background in photography adds significant value for her clients when it comes to marketing listings. She pays close attention to how each listing is presented to ensure optimum exposure and engagement. “We do what I call producing a listing,” she explains. “Photography is critical, and we do a lot of videos and drone shots of the neighborhood, because you’re not just buying the property, you’re buying the neighborhood and the community.” Michelle also draws on her extensive professional network to get the word out about her listings, melding traditional methods with the power of technology.

Bay Real Estate Group is Ranked #68 in Medium Teams by Volume in the 2022 WSJ America’s Best Real Estate Professionals Ranking and was included in The Real Trends List for 2021. The team ranked in 2021 as well and had closed an impressive 95.5 Million in 2020. They finished 2021 with an amazing $158 million in sales volume.
Looking toward the future, what’s most important to Michelle is keeping her clients and her team happy. “My favorite thing about real estate is that I really get to help people,” Michelle says. “I get to help people build wealth, and it’s so fun because I get to meet the most interesting people. We’re blessed with so many creative and incredible people in the Bay Area, and I get to work with an amazing group of agents. I love people, and I love helping and connecting with my clients.”
