Coming from an early career in Journalism, and a background in International Relations and Economics, as well as a perpetual fascination for the real estate market, Alina Aeby wasn’t sure how she could blend all of her passions, but she was certain she wanted to give it a try. She obtained her real estate license 14 years ago and, with her innovative mind and appreciation for the newest technology, she chose San Francisco as her home base. Alina is currently a solo agent at Compass where she works with buyers, sellers, and investors, and specializes in luxury homes, condominiums, multi units and investment properties.

With a large portion of her business coming from repeat and referral clients, it’s Alina’s natural ability to understand their needs that keeps clients coming back. “I work in the middle of a technology center here in San Francisco, and I tend to have a very analytical type of clientele. They appreciate how detailed I am, and that I provide them with a lot of analytics and charts, so that makes us a good match. They also like that I approach this process from the point of a real estate consultant. I’m not a sales person, I work on each transaction with my clients as if we are partners,” she says.

In order to stay in touch with past clients Alina sends an informative monthly newsletter, and checks in on them via LinkedIn and Facebook. “I think keeping in contact has been especially important for me this year amidst the pandemic. I’ve been reaching out to clients and just making sure that they’re coping okay.”

What keeps Alina energized and motivated in her work is the frequent variety it presents. “I like that every day and every transaction is different. It’s competitive, challenging, and you need to constantly learn new things and adapt very quickly. That’s the type of environment I thrive in, and find personally rewarding.” Her work ethic translates into $30,000,000 of sales volume per year.

Besides her passion for real estate, Alina is supportive of a local association who backs an initiative called Welcome Home Project—a collaboration between non-profit, real estate, and government efforts to transition homeless families to permanent housing. Alina is also a NAR Global Coordinator for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. In her spare time, she loves indulging in art, different cultures, languages, and independent films.

Going forward Alina is focused on connecting global real estate markets. That means both adopting a universal real estate ethical conduct, and promoting real estate properties and transactions across borders. You might find her helping an international buyer in San Francisco or promoting an Italian villa, or a new development in Mexico, to potential US buyers or other REALTORS®. She is also on the board of directors for an international real estate platform that uses AI machine learning which she hopes to eventually implement in her own business. “I’m always looking for new ways to improve the profession and the way in which we serve customers.”
