Alex Gandel began his journey in real estate 40 years ago, inspired by his REALTOR® father as well as a successful roommate who was working as a real estate professional. In 2019 Alex joined Pinnacle Estate Properties, Inc., and together with his team, he primarily serves the areas of Simi Valley, Ventura County, and the San Fernando Valley.

Alex estimates his repeat and referral rate to be a high 90%. “I’m a relationship-based REALTOR®. Volume is important, obviously, but it’s how we develop a relationship with a client that truly matters. Our goal is to make each client that we have the privilege of serving feel like they are our only client. It doesn’t matter to us if they are selling a mobile home or a two-million-dollar estate home. Everyone gets treated with the same care and personal attention.” And as the world currently faces the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s even more critical to Alex that he spends quality time sustaining his client relationships. “In this business, everything is built from your relationships with people. For example, in this challenging time that we’re in right now, I make the concerted effort every day to pick up the phone and call past clients to touch base with them and make sure they are doing okay. We are all working through the challenge of what is becoming our “new normal” on a daily basis. People want to do business with professionals they trust and can relate to, and that is what we provide each day.”

Being a real estate professional requires certain finesse at times, especially when preparing a house for showing. “Recently, we had a beautiful but cluttered house to sell. It took multiple conversations for the seller to understand that as beautiful as their stuff was, when a prospective buyer walks into their home, we want them to see the house and not their things. Communicating this concept is always a delicate process because we don’t want to offend anybody. It is even more challenging in the current climate, with people transitioning their job from an office environment to working from home. Our professional and experienced team knows what it takes to make it happen.”

For Alex, money has never been the primary driving factor behind his work. “My career has allowed me to do a lot of things I never imagined I’d be able to do. And it’s not all financial. Because my motivation in my career has always been relationship centered, I have found a life of fulfillment and success.” This belief in looking past the money and focusing on helping people is also the reason why Alex is deeply involved in helping his community. 20 years ago, Alex started an Annual Turkey Drive. After visiting a local food bank a few weeks before Thanksgiving and finding only a couple of turkeys, Alex took matters into his own hands and started a drive that, with the help of co-workers, volunteers and family, has now provided groceries to thousands of qualified people in need during Thanksgiving. He also volunteers on the Adventist Health Simi Valley Foundation Board and is a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Simi Valley.

When he’s not working, Alex loves to read, play golf with his wife, go to the beach and spend quality time with his family. He has no plans on slowing down his Real Estate business but hopes to one day pass his leadership role to his oldest son, Brad.
