Kevin, who graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, began his career in the mortgage industry in 2015. “While I was in college,” he recalls, “I was also working as a personal trainer, and I learned that I loved helping people. So, when a friend/ex-co-worker began working in the mortgage business, I reached out immediately because I was looking for a transition from the industry I was working in. “I immediately knew this was my passion because it checked all the boxes of what I had been searching for in a career; genuinely helping people, flexibility, room for exponential growth, creativity, and creating strong personal relationships with clients and other like-minded successful industry professionals.
And Kevin is doing it exceptionally well, as currently the lion’s share of his overall business is based upon referrals from satisfied buyers and happy Realtor partners, among others. “I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I’m always in control of their transaction,” says Kevin, when asked how he has managed to inspire so much trust and loyalty amongst those he works with. “I’m their main point of contact so there is never any confusion of who to contact or where to send documents.”
Another factor that plays a large role in Kevin’s success story would be the relationships he strives to form with his buyers and Realtor partners. “I treat my clients as human beings, and I try to relate to them on every level as much as possible,” he says. “This can be a fairly confusing process and industry, so taking extra time to explain everything to them definitely helps them by making it feel it’s not as stressful as everyone makes it out to be. My business partner and I hold each other accountable with very high standards of taking care of our clients and referral partners. Strong relationships are made over time and communication to build trust and the trust I have in my partner and team is one of the biggest reasons for my success professionally.”
Kevin is extremely proud of his association with Geneva Financial and of the wide array of loan products they offer to suit any buyer’s needs. “Since we are a direct lender, we are equipped to complete the entire loan process in-house,” he says. “We offer every type of loan, including FHA, VA and USDA. I started out in the non-QM industry helping self-employed borrowers obtain financing using alternative documentation instead of the standard tax returns/W2’s to verify income.
When he’s not working, Kevin enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife and his young daughter. He is also involved in philanthropy, and he and his wife – recently diagnosed with a brain tumor – are involved with The Gray Matters Group to help raise awareness and support for others going through the same thing they have been.
Looking to the future, Kevin’s plan is for the continued growth of his business, including expansion, adding new loan officers/team members, and providing the most value possible to all his referral partners. Above all, however, is his constant objective: to continue providing his clients (past, present, and future) with the white-glove service that has become his calling card.
