In the 1990’s, Linda Wolfenson established her professional reputation as a financial advisor and equity partner of an investment firm, guiding clients toward a more secure future. As she began eyeing her next challenge, Linda noticed that friends and family continually sought her advice on home financing decisions. She was surprised to discover that the loan officers serving them often had little to no financial background and therefore weren’t providing the advice she knew was critically needed. Recognizing that her talents and skillset could fill an important void, she shifted her focus in 2005 to mortgage lending. Since then, she has worked to impact the industry as a loan officer known for her savvy insight, reliable communication, seasoned financial experience, and demonstrated ability to provide customized solutions for clients.
Today, Linda spearheads her work under the banner of CrossCountry Mortgage LLC, from her Newtown, Pennsylvania office. As a correspondent lender with the ability to underwrite and fund loans directly, she offers borrowers a wide range of loan options to suit every real estate and financial goal. “I’m known for creative problem solving and using my financial skills to deliver better results. Whether I’m working with high net worth individuals or self-employed borrowers who need a more sophisticated approach, or first time homebuyers and those facing the challenge of buying and selling simultaneously – the commitment is the same.” Linda provides them with thoughtful lending strategies which maximize their financial benefit, including solutions they may not obtain from other lenders without her expertise. “I think of it as being fortunate enough to simply have a larger toolbox, which directly benefits my clients.”
Over the course of her fifteen-year tenure, Linda has driven her business exclusively through repeat and referral clientele. Clients, friends, and family turn to her for a holistic understanding of their financial health and opportunity. “My clients often say it feels like they’re working with a financially savvy friend – someone who is on their side. I’m invested in their outcome – it’s just how I’m built” she says. “I give the attention, time, and information folks need to make the right decision for their future. Linda also emphasizes the importance of collaboration with borrowers and other team members such as their realtors, attorneys, financial advisors, and CPAs. Regular updates and hands-on communication ensure all parties are kept well-informed and in the loop. Linda also has a passion for education and enjoys hosting learning events for buyers, agents, and advisors. She focuses on keeping past clients current on market conditions and other relevant industry information. “It’s important to be proactive about reaching out,” she says. “My clients and referral partners count on me to be their eyes and ears, and to communicate market changes, to ensure their financing is continually well positioned.” The lending relationship doesn’t end at closing. “Many clients reach out to bounce ideas off me and seek advice long after closing. I love the ongoing collaboration that results from real trust.”
As for the future, Linda intends to keep progress steady as she grows her business in Bucks County, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Florida, and continues to serve aspiring homeowners. Now, with fifteen years of insight, Linda considers what she enjoys most about her chosen field. “I’m a stubborn advocate when it comes to my clients,” she says. “I’m a problem-solver and an advice-giver at heart, and I don’t rest until I find the best solution so that my clients and their families can achieve success. That’s what makes me happiest.”
